96th academy awards campaign

The posters and branding campaign for the 96th Annual Academy Awards was designed to celebrate the timeless elegance of Hollywood while introducing a modern, innovative approach. The objective was to create a typographic poster series that captured both the sleek glamour of the event and its storied history. Through expressive typography, the designs drew inspiration from the themes of film and light, paying homage to the Academy Awards’ legacy while elevating its visual identity with a contemporary twist.

THE GOOD OLE' AGE

Central to the concept was the use of typography to evoke the essence of Hollywood’s golden age. Each design balanced clean, sophisticated type with elements that reflected the nostalgic yet forward-looking spirit of the awards. The decision to emphasize typography as a visual focal point allowed the project to explore how letterforms and layout could convey a sense of drama and grandeur appropriate for this prestigious event. By carefully curating type styles and treatments, the designs aligned with the Academy’s ethos of honoring both tradition and innovation.

CAPTURING EXCELLENCE

The creative process involved iterative experimentation, as initial ideas were reworked to ensure each element served the overall vision cohesively. This phase allowed for exploration within the constraints of typographic design, pushing boundaries while adhering to the event’s refined tone. The project ultimately underscored the potential of typography to transcend its conventional role, becoming a powerful tool for storytelling and emotional resonance in visual communication for a world-renowned event.
